Buckley Country Day School

Today marks 25 years since September 11, 2001. We gathered in the courtyard for a moment of silence and to hear from Mr. Ronnie Stibritz, our security guard, who was a firefighter with the FDNY, Engine 230 on 9/11. Mr Ronnie shared a story about a tragic day in our history but was also one of “courage, kindness, teamwork and helping others.” Buckley will never forget.
Today, the Buckley community celebrated the official start of the 2026-27 school year with our Opening Assembly! Student Council Co-Presidents Artemios G. and Emma S. led the Class of 2027 in welcoming new members of our community, including students in grades 2-7 and faculty and staff beginning their Buckley tenures. The eighth-grade class—the school’s 100th graduating class—selected “Painting a Better Tomorrow” as this year’s theme.
