Faculty and Staff Reunite to Begin the 2026–2027 School Year

September 2, 2026

Buckley’s faculty and staff returned to campus today, reconnecting with colleagues and preparing for the start of the 2026–2027 school year.

Following a beautiful hot breakfast, the year’s first faculty meeting began on an inspiring note as a Buckley student Emma S. ’27 performed a piece on the cello accompanied by piano ensemble teacher Ms. Soyoung Chun—a meaningful reminder of the creativity, dedication, and joy our students bring to campus each day.

A video created by Head of School Dr. Jean-Marc Juhel offered a glimpse into colleagues’ summer reading, featuring photos captured everywhere from vacation destinations and back porches to baseball games and beaches…even a dentist’s office! Dr. Juhel also shared plans and priorities for the coming year, while the Sunshine Committee highlighted the many service projects through which faculty and staff can support the wider community each month.

After the meeting, everyone walked through The Children’s Garden and gathered in the amphitheater for Buckley’s annual faculty and staff photo. Colleagues then continued the day in divisional meetings before coming together once more to enjoy lunch.

The day marked a joyful beginning to a new year of learning, collaboration, and community. Our classrooms are ready, our teachers are energized, and we are eagerly awaiting the moment when Buckley’s hallways and fields are once again filled with the voices, curiosity, and enthusiasm of our students. We can’t wait to welcome our families back to campus next week!
