Upper School Takes on Club Getaway

Last week, Buckley’s Upper School traded classrooms for the woods of Kent, Connecticut, during an action-packed trip to Club Getaway!

Seventh and eighth graders departed Buckley on Thursday morning and spent two days testing their courage, challenging themselves, and cheering one another on. Students soared through the trees on zip lines, navigated ropes courses, tackled team-building activities, and made the most of their time on the water. Even a light rain could not dampen the fun as they canoed, kayaked, and paddleboarded across the lake.

After a full day of adventure, the group gathered under the tent for s’mores before settling into their cabins for the night. On Friday morning, fifth and sixth graders arrived, ready to take on a day of adventures of their own and join the excitement.

By the time everyone returned to Buckley on Friday evening, students were tired—but also stronger in body and mind, more confident in themselves, and closer in their friendships. The trip gave them opportunities to step outside their comfort zones, support their classmates, and make lasting Upper School memories together.

A special thank-you goes to the Upper School teachers and staff who made the trip possible, serving as chaperones, cheerleaders, and photographers throughout the adventure.
