Shannon Schlussel ’96

Shannon Schlussel ’96 is making waves in Hollywood. Shannon attended BCDS from kindergarten through graduation. While at Buckley, she starred as Laurie in her 8th Grade play, “Oklahoma.” After attending ASU, graduating with a BFA in Theater, she ventured to Los Angeles where she booked many one-line parts on TV and in film. She later teamed up with her husband Luke Lieberman and co-produced the Red Sonja live action film, which was released in theaters on August 13, 2025, and is available for streaming starting August 29th. Shannon has a cameo in the film in the second royal box arena scene. The film is rated R for swordplay and fake blood. Luke and Shannon are also co-IP-holders of the Red Sonja character, who has been around since Marvel first published her comics in the 1970s. Shannon remembers Buckley fondly, and says it will always hold a special place in her heart. Congratulations, Shannon and Luke!
