Buckley’s Got Talent Returns for A Second Year

Wednesday, April 1, 2026

Buckley’s Got Talent lit up The Muran Theatre on Wednesday, April 1, with an afternoon of creativity, confidence, and crowd-pleasing performances from students in Grades 5–8. The annual showcase featured an impressive range of acts—from high-energy dance routines and musical performances to eye-catching displays of circus arts—each met with enthusiastic applause from an engaged audience of peers, faculty, and families.

Buckley’s Got Talent Judging Panel

Adding to the excitement was a panel of judges who brought both humor and personality to the stage, each channeling a well-known television counterpart. Head of School Jean-Marc Juhel took on the role of Simon Cowell, delivering witty commentary with a discerning eye; Upper School Mandarin Teacher Sumeng Guo embodied Heidi Klum with warmth and encouragement; 7/8 English Teacher Maria Newman brought flair as Sofia Vergara; and Woodshop and 3D Printing Teacher Brendon Shunk rounded out the panel as Howie Mandel, keeping the audience laughing throughout the event.

Emcees Sophie L. 26 and Sarp L. 26

Guiding the program from start to finish were Student Council Co-Presidents Sophie L. ’26 and Sarp L. ’26, whose poise and presence kept the show running smoothly and our opinionated judges in check.

In a fun twist, several faculty members also stepped into the spotlight, joining students on stage and further energizing the program. The result was a joyful, community-wide celebration of talent and creativity that highlighted both the courage and camaraderie of Buckley’s Upper School students.

Rhea Y. ’29, third place winner

This year’s top performers exemplified both skill and stage presence. Rhea Y. ’29 earned third place with a beautiful and technically accomplished violin performance. Adriano A. ’28, a returning crowd favorite, took second place with a standout vocal performance. Claiming first place, Ciana S.S. ’27 delivered a stunning and mature vocal performance—one that felt ready for the America’s Got Talent stage at a moment’s notice.

Buckley’s Got Talent continues to be a beloved new tradition—one that not only showca ses students’ diverse abilities, but also reinforces the confidence and spirit that define the Buckley experience.

Congratulations to all our talented participants whose courage and skill shone so brightly on stage!
