The Classs of 2025 Kicks Off A New School Year

Buckley Country Day School kicked off the new academic year with an uplifting opening assembly, led by the 8th-grade class led by Student Council President Alyssa Sugiyama. They chose the theme "Illuminate: Be The Light That Guides Others."

Fourth graders Mia and Lukie lead our first Pledge of Allegiance of the school year, and fifth grader Adriano performed a stirring rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.

In a heartfelt and energizing program, the Alyssa and the 8th graders encouraged students and faculty to embody the spirit of leadership and compassion, emphasizing the importance of being a positive influence within the school community.

They introduced all the new students and faculty, warmly welcoming them into the Buckley family with an LED candle - a reminder of the light they bring to our community, and that together, we all shine more brightly. The assembly set the tone for the year, with a focus on kindness, mentorship, and the power of each individual to make a difference.

The theme of "Illuminate" will serve as a guiding principle throughout the school year, inspiring everyone to lead by example and support one another in meaningful ways.

Thank you to the entire Class of 2025 for their leadership and for helping us start off the school year on a positive note.
