Buckley Country Day School
Buckley Country Day School is an independent, coeducational day school providing a superior elementary education.
It is International Women’s Day! Here’s to the women in our community, like our mathematicians pictured here, and their invaluable contributions!
Today was the annual Math Bee; Contestants from 1st through 8th grade, representing the red and blue teams, competed on problems created by Mrs. Wiener, Mrs. Serra, and Mrs. Rodriguez-McLean. We were so proud of all of our participants! ![]()

In February, Buckley’s 6th graders presented the research they’ve been conducting in humanities at our annual Immigration Expo!![]()

First, students researched their own families’ histories about coming to America and shared their stories.![]()
![]()
They researched individual immigrant groups from around the world, and read first-person accounts of what it’s like to have to leave your home country suddenly.![]()
![]()
Students used those stories to assemble their own backpack of essentials - the only things they could take with them in the event they had to leave their home in ten minutes.![]()
![]()
They graphed global immigration patterns and refugee data, and talked about the events that have affected migration throughout history.![]()

Students also shared traditions from different cultures around the world that they studied as part of their research.![]()
