Buckley Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month!

October 15, 2024

On Friday, October 11, 2024, Buckley Country Day School honored Hispanic Heritage Month with an engaging assembly led by Spanish teachers Professora Granya Vazquez and Señora Elba Lugo, supported by the 8th grade Spanish students. The assembly highlighted the cultures of Venezuela and the Dominican Republic, the home countries of Professora Vazquez and Señora Lugo.

Students shared informative presentations about the geography, climate, history, culture, and foods of both countries, offering the audience a deeper understanding of these vibrant cultures. Adding to the celebration, a group of Upper School musicians performed a lively musical piece, accompanied by a traditional dance that captured the spirit of the occasion.

The event was a resounding success, thanks to the hard work and dedication of Professora Vazquez and Señora Lugo, who organized this beautiful tribute to Hispanic heritage. ¡Muchas gracias!
